How to Install Google reCAPTCHA In WordPress

Did you ever encountered with an option called “I’m not a robot”? Yes, that’s called Google reCAPTCHA. It is a new way to prevent boot traffics and spammers from entering or commenting on your website.

It is a powerful way and a must needed option for webmasters. However, it might be painful for you, but it is a helpful tool for those who deal with spammers on a regular basis.

I have a website that is under spammers attack for a quite awhile, almost 100-150 comments get submitted on it.

Use Google reCAPTCHA, a powerful way to prevent spammers from affecting your site.

It is easy to use and tried and tested.

There are several Plug-ins available to integrate it with your WordPress website. For Example:

All of these are good, however, currently, I’m using the Google Captcha (reCAPTCHA) by BestWebSoft.

This plug-in was last updated 4 weeks ago while I’m writing the blog. So I can consider it an up to date plug-in. So far it has almost 100000 active installations and 185 5 Star Ratings. As an extra feature plug-in, it is quite impressive.

Let’s see how to install Google reCAPTCHA…

Go to your WordPress admin panel, move to plug in section, and click on add new

In the Search box type Google Captcha (reCAPTCHA) by BestWebSoft and install it. After the installation, click on settings.

on the right corner you will see an option Get the API Keys, click on that, and then the below page will open.

Register a new site

Write a label, anything you want, which may help you to remember it. And then click on the first option, and write down your domain address, as yourdomain.com (example). Then Accept the reCAPTCHA Terms of Service, and click on register, that’s it, you’re good to go.

Copy the reCAPTCHA Site Key and Secret key and paste it into your Plugins settings as (Google Captcha Settings)

After the paste, an option will appear, as Test it. Test your codes – if it’s running or not? If the sign is green, save the settings and you’re done.

However, if you want more control over your site below there will be several options, where the reCAPTCHA will appear, click on those options as you like.
